Ross Grace – Partner & Facilitator

Ross draws on his real-life experience in leadership and management to empower others through our programs. Ross has 25 years of experience in the NSW Police Force, in which he was the Senior Hostage Negotiator for the Newcastle area and a Senior Supervisor for the Special Weapons and Operations Squad (SWOS).

He is an expert in dealing with high-risk conflict and has led and trained teams in successfully resolving high risk policing incidents. Ross’ successful career led him to become a Detective Chief Inspector and hold a senior managerial position within NSW Police that saw him manage corporate change and responsibility for a command of 250 staff.

Over the past 12 years, Ross has provided training and consultancy services to businesses in the mining, construction, health and local government sectors, including Glencore Coal Assets Australia, McDonald Jones Homes, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Cessnock Councils, and Hunter Area Health.


Ross is an accredited Executive Coach and provides training and development programs for supervisors, managers, CEOs and their teams.

Mark Maguire – Partner & Facilitator

Mark’s background working in high risk environments where effective leadership was essential to deliver operational outcomes makes him more than qualified to help others evolve into great leaders.

Mark’s first exposure to leadership was in the NSW Police, leading surveillance teams working in the complex area of covert police operations. As a Sergeant, he moved on to run larger uniformed teams at Local Area Commands for several years, and gained sought-after experience as a member of senior management teams. He has a successful history running small to large scale operations, liaising with corporate partners, managing people performance and developing training programs.

After leaving the NSW Police, Mark further embedded his leadership expertise as a Project Manager in the construction industry for UEA Pty Ltd leading small teams and contractors. Amongst the projects he managed and completed was the contracted Telstra relocations works on the Karuah to Buladelah by-pass.

These experiences led Mark to pursue training and helping others to grow and succeed. Mark established his own business, initially providing consultancy services in risk management, and was involved in conducting broad brush risk assessments for organisations such as Coolmore Stud and the Mater Hospital, Waratah. As demand for leadership support grew, the business developed and moved into the area of providing training and consultancy services. This has provided him with the opportunity to work with organisations such as Centennial Coal, Tomago Aluminium, Yancoal, Mastermyne, and Sika Australia.

Craig Semple – Facilitator

Craig Semple was a career Detective within the NSW Police Force for 25 years. Much of Craig’s career was invested in high risk law enforcement, including drug investigation, the investigation of outlaw motorcycle gangs and homicides. The environment within which Craig led professional people for much of his career was one that exposed employees to high levels of stress, high, workloads, occupational burnout, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.

As a leader, he developed a clear and practical understanding of workplace mental health and its relevance to workplace health and safety, occupational health and safety legislation, productivity, personal wellbeing and resilience.

Craig’s retirement from the Police Force was as a result of his own personal battle with workplace psychological injury. From that lived experience, he has developed a rare personal insight into the causes, symptoms, treatment, recovery strategies and the impact of mental illness in the workplace.

In 2015, Craig joined the Black Dog Institute as a mental health educational presenter. He has travelled extensively to share his experience and deliver vital education on mental health, wellbeing and resilience to others. In fact, more than 4,000 people have benefited from Craig’s presentations.

In 2016, Craig was selected as an inaugural Mentor for the NSW Police Legacy program, `Backup for Life’. Craig has used his unique experience to help develop this program, which provides support to injured Police Officers and their families. The Police consider Craig to be a role model for injured police transitioning into the next phase of their lives.

Combining his skills in leadership, effective communication, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution and risk management with a lived experience of recovery from workplace psychological injury Craig provides real, practical mental health training for staff and leaders.

  • Mental health training in four key areas: awareness, impact, risk and resilience.

David Turner – Facilitator

David has over 30 years experience with Fire and Rescue NSW. Achieving the position of Superintendent – a Senior Management role within Fire and Rescue NSW – he has extensive experience in a whole range of leadership and management skills including taking command of emergency situations, strategic and operational planning, resource and financial management, human resource management, industrial relations, training and development as well as community risk and WHS management.

Over the last 15 years David has developed and delivered extensive training in the area of leadership, risk management and conflict management to a range of industries, including mining, government and local councils.

David loves the challenge of working with people, getting to the heart of complex problems and help them become better leaders, better communicators and more productive people.

David delivers innovative programs in the fields of Leadership, Decision Making, Customer Service, Conflict Management and Negotiation. Most of his focus is preparing and facilitating people through change and managing performance.

David also has experience acting as an ‘in-house’ consultant, undertaking a number of successful corporate improvement projects involving organisational analysis and problem solving, project/change management, strategy development, customer consultation and management communication.

Regular feedback from peers and participants is that his strengths are his broad knowledge of industries and issues, deep understanding of motivation and performance, practical application of complex concepts, honesty and integrity, enthusiasm and passion that he applies to his work.

Lynda Gale – Facilitator

Specialising in human behaviour, leadership and workplace culture development, Lynda is a highly motivated and experienced facilitator, who understands the challenge of creating and establishing change in the workplace. Using her formal qualifications in business management, workplace training and assessment, and hospitality management, she has delivered leadership development programs and for over 15 years has worked with thousands of clients, facilitating programs throughout Australia and Asia.
