Wambo United Joint Venture – Senior Leadership Team Focused on Culture

Leadership & Performance Partners had the opportunity to work with the Senior Leadership Team of the new United Wambo Joint Venture during February 2020.

The Senior Leadership Team have a wealth of mining experience and knowledge and have come together to form a strong team to provide direction, support for a new workforce and project.

Leadership & Performance Partners worked with the SLT to establish how they would work effectively as a team to meet the needs of their people and the business as the project progresses including identifying their vision, mission and values.

Each member of the team completed a DISC Leadership Profile which provided them with insights into their strengths and areas for development as senior leaders. The profile also assisted these leaders in improving their leadership, communication, decision making and coaching capabilities.

Stage 1 involved each member participating in a one on one debrief with our facilitators which provided them with personal development strategies and tools to be more effective as senior leaders of the business.

Stage 2 involved a Senior Leadership Team Workshop which focused on the following concepts:
• Understanding how to apply the DISC leadership principles to improve teamwork, strategic decision making, effective communication and developing staff.
• Identifying what it takes to have a high performing team
• Developing their “Leadership Brand”
• Understanding and implementing effective Communication strategies
• Setting expectations for Senior Leadership behaviours to improve Team Performance and influence others.
• Developing the Senior Leadership Teams Vision, Mission, Values and strategies to achieve the business outcomes.
• Improving resilience for senior leaders

Feedback from the participants in relation to the program included:

“The facilitator engaged the entire team with activities and knowledge”

This project focused on the Senior Leadership Team who are in the process of recruiting outstanding individuals for their respective teams. Leadership & Performance Partners will be facilitating Team Building workshops to assist the development and performance of the new teams.
