An element of the Mentoring Program Leadership & Performance Partners has developed for the NSW Public Works Advisory (Hunter), is the mentor and mentees completing a DISC Advanced Assessment from which DISC Pair Profile Reports are generated.
The Pair Profile Report assists two people to better understand each other and develop how they interact with each other. It provides an overview of the two behavioural styles and demonstrates how similar or different they are. It shows where each person falls within the DISC Behavioural Chart.
With the Pair Profile Report you can easily see the similar and different behavioural styles of the pair, quickly identify the overall behavioural strengths and weaknesses of the pair and develop strategies for where gaps appear and/or where communication challenges exist.
As part of a Mentoring Program, the DISC Pair Report assists in providing both the mentor and mentee an understanding of each other’s behaviours, communication styles and preferences as well as potential challenges. It a valuable tool for establishing the relationship and opening up the lines of communication.
Leadership & Performance Partners facilitated the completion of the DISC Reports and held de-briefs with the mentoring pairs (mentor and mentee). There was positive feedback at the conclusion of each de-brief due to each person’s awareness and understanding being increased to benefit the mentoring relationship. This will assist in achieving meaningful outcomes from the mentoring process in relation to personal and professional development.
