Local training experts combine to empower leaders

Leaders have the highest impact on a business’ success when they have the skills and resources they need to show up as their best selves. However, many leaders today struggle with interpersonal interaction, resilience, empowering teams and dealing with conflict.

 

Local training and leadership development experts, Mark Maguire and Ross Grace have combined to create Leadership & Performance Partners to help leaders and businesses navigate team challenges and lead employees towards a shared vision and business success.

Ross said a leader’s capacity to be aware and self-manage their emotions and become attuned to their own needs as well as that of others can help them make better decisions and develop stronger relationships with staff, stakeholders, competitors, networks and fellow leaders.


“Many organisations and businesses are wasting time and money as a direct result of people in leadership positions not having the leadership skills, confidence and tools to be as effective as they could be,” Ross said.
“Organisations tend to place people in leadership roles because of their technical skills and work ethic but we don’t support those areas with effective leadership skills such as performance management, emotional intelligence, dealing with conflict, effective decision making and resilience.

“Leadership & Performance Partners was created to address that shortfall for businesses and their leaders.”

Leadership & Performance Partners works with businesses, individuals and teams to help them achieve positive, long-term behavioural change and to become more effective leaders through practical, high-quality leadership and professional development programs delivered by experienced and qualified facilitators.

Both Mark and Ross have a rich history in training and empowering teams in government bodies, small businesses, large organisations and the private sector across Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Sydney, Central Coast, Central West NSW and North West NSW.

Drawing on their real-life experience working in leadership roles for the NSW Police Force followed by a combined 22 years (Ross 12 years + Mark 10 years) in leadership training, Ross and Mark have helped organisations like Mater Hospital, Tomago Aluminium, McDonald Jones Homes, and Newcastle and Cessnock Councils to grow their leadership capabilities.


“We’ve created a suite of workshops designed to help businesses and leaders with some of the more common shortfalls they face. However, our passion is working directly with a business to identify the unique needs of its team so that we can craft a program that will ensure you get the most out of your experience,” Mark said.

“One of the biggest challenges that short online courses and out-of-the-box leadership courses present to any business or professional is a lack of implementation and follow-up. While it’s easy to take on the tools offered in a one-day or short course, practicing them in a business setting and understanding their use in different situations can be challenging.
