On the 6th and 8th October 2020, Leadership & Performance Partners facilitated training for United Wambo Joint Venture addressing Associated Non-Technical Skills (ANTS).
Associated Non-Technical Skills (ANTS) are mental, social and personal skills that support technical and management skills. They help staff do their work safely and efficiently. These skills include:
• Situation Awareness
• Decision Making
• Leadership
• Communication
• Teamwork
Competence in ANTS enables all who work in the industry to interact effectively. Research relating to incidents in high risk industry sectors such as aviation, medicine, oil and gas, and mining indicates that the failure of work systems to produce the WHS outcomes often result from inadequacy of ANTS.
